Savannah, Georgia

It’s been a while since I took the time to write, it’s good to be back!

I turned 30 in April, wooo! For my birthday, I visited Savannah, GA. I wanted to go somewhere I had never visited, and I heard amazing things about the food scene. I was not the slightest bit disappointed. The people and the hospitality were amazing! It really reminded me that there are kind people in the world! Here’s the list of restaurants I visited and that I highly recommend checking out!

FishBar

I made some adjustments in my reservation schedule just to eat a this place. From my understanding, it’s a newer resteraunt and is really blowing up! The restaurant focuses around their seasonal menu which I love. I wanted to come here soley for the for the full red snapper. It did not disappoint me, eyeballs and all. The menu is made up of small plates that are perfect for sharing. My mother and I shared the tartare and scallop as appetizer. They were both unbelievable. The scallop featured a callabrian chili oil that provided the right amount of heat. The surpising standout of the meal was the cabbage that was grilled. Who knew cabbage could taste so good! The staff treated us so well and even had a hand-written birthday card for me! I looked at their current menu and I am already planning my trip back!

Treyler Park

We would not have stopped here if it were not for our amazing Uber driver. She mentioned these peanut butter & jelly chicken wings, and I was intrigued. My mom is not the biggest chicken wing fan, but she is always down to find a good wing. Thank goodness we did! These wings are the perfect combination of sweet and savory. The peanut sauce is not overly sweet and has more of an umami taste. The wings are paired with this peach jelly, OH MY GOD. We also had this collared green dip. This was a must-have. It was cheesy and savory, everything you want in a dip. We paired it with the Treylor Park spritzes and people-watching outside; it was the perfect afternoon!

Stone & Webster

I love nothing more than a big steak on my birthday. Webster & Stone is your classic steakhouse. The service was immaculate. By the time we left, I felt like I really bonded with our server. It was my birthday, so we went all out. We started with the oysters and moved on to the foie gras. Every bite was heaven. My steak was cooked perfectly, I could not have asked for better. I highly recommend getting the creamed spinach, oh my god, I could have eaten a whole pot. Our server surprised me with a little birthday cake. The whole dinner had such a special touch that you are looking for in an evening out.

Savannah Square Pops

Another recommendation from our amazing Uber driver. This shop makes gourmet popsicles. Their menu was pretty extensive, but I went with classic lemonade, and my mother went with a banana cream pie, which came with a Nilla cookie! The staff at the shop was so friendly, and the popsicles were refreshing and delicious. It’s the perfect afternoon stop!

Vic’s On the River

Had a late reservation at Vic’s and was seated a little early. We were informed by locals that we had to have the fried green tomatoes. OMG, thank goodness we listened. The tomatoes were fried perfectly (not soggy) and served on top of this pimento cheesy risotto situation. I wanted to lick the plate clean. I also had a delicious cup of crab soup with a crisp sauvy B. It was a perfect evening meal. Would go back solely for the tomatoes.

I will absolutely be returning to Savannah! The people were so friendly, and there were so many restaurants I did not get to try. What are some of your favorite Savannah restaurants?

With Love,

Hannah
